Personal options highlights
RB9’s personal functions include an in-house ”email” messaging system, the ability to update your password, personal customization options for defaults and the look and feel of your personal copy of RB, and some efficiency options.
In-app messaging system
RB9’s Notifications and Messages is similar to an internal email system. It lets you exchange messages with others within your RB system, individually or to pre-determined groups of RB users, and sends reminders for you about important tasks, such as collections follow-up calls.
When creating a new message, all potential recipients are listed in a drop-down list, with individuals first, then message groups (for sending one email to all of the people in a group you designated in Setup).
You can style messages easily in Notifications and Messages using the tools at the top of the message window, including adding tables and images.
Any rush orders received through Notifications and Messages are flagged and highlighted in red so you won’t overlook them.
Change your password 2 ways
You can change your password at any time within the program using the Change Password function. You can also use Forgot Password to set a new password from the Login screen.
For increased security, you can set System Preferences to require that users create strong passwords and reset their password every set amount of days. You can allow them to reset their password to the same password they have been using or require a new one when resetting their password.
Customize your RB experience
Because everyone is different, RB9 has options for default selections and workspace customization. You select defaults for new jobs, messages, and report headers. Choose up to 5 functions to have open automatically on startup. You also have options for how your work space appears: You can choose the maximum number of rows in results grid pages, and whether your screen appears in dark or regular mode.
If you have your own email address at work, you can set that up with customizations such as default Bccs and your signature that can be styled including images and tables. You can even set up multiple personal email addresses to use in RB9.
Other personal functions
RB9’s personal options include 2 other functions:
- Locked Data is an important safety feature for working with shared data in the cloud. To prevent two or more people from working on the same data at the same time and overwriting each other’s work when they save, RB9 “locks” data when someone accesses it so that only that person can edit it until they save, cancel, or close the data window. You can use this function to see who is currently using what data and release a lock to switch access to yourself.
- Close All Tabs is just what it says: Instead of closing open functions one by one, you can quickly close them all with a single click.
