Printing envelopes and labels

RB9 only

Print labels for correspondence and packages, or generate a PDF file to print addresses directly on envelopes.

  1. Designate recipient

    1. Production > Envelopes and Labels
    2. In Envelopes and Labels window Search By pane’s For drop-down, select the type of recipient for whom you want to create label(s):
      • Manual

        Default. If you are making a one-off label for an address that is not in your RB9 database, enter recipient name and address in blank label in Recipient pane.

      • Case

        Click lookup button to look up a case. See Looking up cases. RB9 will list all parties to the case with their default address(es) in label format in the Recipient pane.

      • Contact

        Can use either or both fields:

        Firm – Click lookup button to look up a firm. See Looking up firms. RB9 will list all of the firm’s contacts with their default address(es) in label format in the Recipient pane.

        Contact – Click lookup button to look up a contact. See Looking up contacts. The contact and their default address appear in label format in the Recipient pane.

      • Firm

        Click lookup button to look up a firm. See Looking up firms. RB9 will list all of the firm’s contacts with their default address(es) in label format in the Recipient pane.

      • Invoice Bill To

        Enter the number of an invoice addressed to a billed client or third-party payer in Invoice No., then click search button. Billed party and their default address appear in label format in the Recipient pane.

      • Invoice Sold To

        Enter the number of an invoice for a job scheduled by a client in Invoice No., then click search button. Scheduling party and their default address appear in label format in the Recipient pane.

      • Job

        Enter a job number in Job No., then click search button. RB9 will list all of the parties to the job with their default address(es) in label format in the Recipient pane.

      • Location

        Click lookup button to look up a location. See Looking up locations. The location’s address appears in label format in the Recipient pane.

      • Resource

        Click lookup button to look up a resource. See Looking up resources. The resource and their default address appear in label format in the Recipient pane.

    3. If Send To field appears in the Search By pane, you can switch to a different address for the recipient(s) by selecting an address type in the drop-down, then clicking search button:
      • Firm Address

        Entity’s business address. Default for firms, contacts, invoice billed to/sold to clients, and job parties.

      • Billing Address

        Address designated by entity for receiving invoices

      • Home Address

        Entity’s personal residence address

      • Resource Address

        Main address for resource. Depending on the resource, it could be a business address, home address, or P.O. box. Default for resources.

    4. Check the box(es) in the Recipient pane of any address(es) for which you want to create labels.
  2. Print label/envelope
