Looking up firms

Within any RB function with a Firm field, you can look up firms on the fly in your RB database by their company name, other names you might use for them, their RB-generated firm number, or the name of a contact at the firm.

1. To find a firm in RB, click a Firm field’s (or > Lookup Firm).
2. In the Lookup Firm panel, select a filter in Search By:

   • Firm Name or a/k/a

     Default. Enter part of the firm’s name or alias in Search Criteria.

   • Firm No.

     If selected, enter the entire firm number in Search Criteria.

   • Contact Name

     If selected, enter part the name of a contact at the firm in Search Criteria.

   • Contact No.

     If selected, enter the entire contact number of a contact at the firm in Search Criteria.
3. Show Active Only is Yes by default. If you want to search your entire firm database, click to select No.
4. Click . All firms that fit the search criteria appear in the results pane.
5. Click the hyperlinked name in the results pane to select it. If the firm does not appear in the list, see Adding firms to RB.
