Update tasks with benchmark dates and other information as they progress and are completed. Upload files to the task-level repository and manage files in the repository.

In the Edit Task panel’s General pane, enter/update text and selections:
Required. Task type. Task types, including the default, are defined in Lists > Jobs. If you are changing the task to one with a different Due Date, a popup will appear asking if you want to update the current date. Click Yes to have RB calculate the date based on the new task. Click No to keep the same date, or if you want to enter a new date manually.
Uneditable once the task has been assigned. Date request for service was made.
Deadline for the task. Due dates are calculated using the default deadlines set in the ordering firm’s Task Due Days pane, or if the firm has no preferences set, from the assigned BU’s Task Due Days pane. (See Entering default task deadlines.) You can override the default by editing the date or selecting a new one in the Date Navigator.
To view/edit the resource: Click the Resource field’s or
> View Resource. See Updating resources.
To remove the assigned resource from the task: If the resource has been assigned but not notified, you can click > Remove Resource, then click Yes.
To assign a new resource: If a resource has not been assigned, click to assign a resource. See Assigning resources from within a job.
If you sent the resource an assignment notification, you cannot remove the resource. Instead you have to cancel the task and re-enter it. When you cancel a task, RB will make an entry in the job’s Notes Log about the canceled task and resource.
Date and time you notified resource of the job. Click to select a date in the Date Navigator and click
to select a time in the drop-down. Once this information is saved, you cannot edit it.
When the resource accepts a job via RB Connect, these date and time fields are filled automatically. If you do not use RB Connect, enter the date and time manually when the resource acknowledges the job.
Uneditable. To cancel a task, click More > Cancel Task in the Edit Task panel. Then click Yes in the RB popup to notify the resource. See Notifying resources individually.
Date and time resource arrived at the job location. If resource checked in via RB Connect or RB Connect Mobile, these fields will automatically populate.
Uneditable. To change the task’s status, click > Change Status. In the Change Status panel if *Status to be is blank or incorrect, select the new status from the drop-down (required). (Status options and default are set up in Lists > Jobs.) Enter any notes about the status change in Remarks. Remarks are stored in the Status History log. (To view the task’s status changes, click
> View Status History.)
If the resource enters this information in RB Connect, it appears here automatically. Otherwise, enter the resource’s estimate of the number of transcript pages manually.
If the resource enters this information in RB Connect, it appears here automatically. Otherwise, enter the date resource predicts they will turn in the transcript/complete the task.
Actual date and time the resource turned in the transcript/completes the task.
If you prefill parties when invoicing a job, you can quickly note which tasks have been completed to have RB fill in these fields automatically.
Any notes or other information that you want to record with the task. To customize the appearance of the notes, see Customizing notes & remarks.If you have RB Connect, your resource assigned to the task can see these notes in the Remarks field of the job in RB Connect and RB Connect Mobile.
In the Repository pane, to:
