Updating tracking

RB9 only

Keep the status of items being tracked current by updating tracking information as the items move through production and into storage.

Continued from Monitoring production.

  1. View tracking item details

    1. To view or update a tracked service item, click its hyperlink in the Tracking window results grid.
    2. RB9 displays the selected service item’s status and other details in the View Tracking window.
    3. To update the item, click Edit.
    4. In the Edit Tracking window’s General pane, some information in not editable. You can view and update details of any field with an active detail button by clicking it. See Updating jobs and Updating cases.

    In the Edit Tracking window’s General pane, enter/update text or select other information:

    In the Media pane, enter/update text and selections if the item being tracked is a recording of some sort, usually video:

  4. Move item to next step

    1. If the currrent tracking step has been completed, click Change Tracking Step in the Edit Tracking window.
    2. In the Change Tracking Step panel, enter or update information as needed:
      • Next Step
        Automatically displays the next step in the production cycle. Select a different step if desired. Tracking steps and their order are set in Setup > Tracking Steps.
      • Assign To
        If the next step is to handled by a resource, click lookup button and look up the resource. See Looking up resources.
      • Step Due Date

        Deadline for next step. Default is calculated based on number set for the step in Setup > Tracking Steps.

      • Remarks

        Any special notes for the new step

    3. Click Save.
    4. In the Edit Tracking windows General pane, Step updates to the new step, and the Step History pane documents the change. Step History records the history of tracking step changes and is un-editable. To record your own notes, use the Notes Log, see Making notes.
  5. Save updates

    Click Save.

IMPORTANT: RB9 marks when tracking is completed

If you move to the last step in the workflow, RB9 will automatically complete the tracking item by changing Status from “In Progress” to “Completed.” End Date will default to today’s date.
