Finishing PDF transcripts
After converting a transcript from ASCII to PDF, apply stamps to the transcripts, hyperlink exhibits to transcripts, attach digital signatures, set security restrictions, and upload the files to your repository.
Continued from Creating PDF transcripts or Verifying ASCII.
- After RB9 verifies the ASCII file successfully and generates the PDF transcript(s), the PDF Transcript window displays the converted transcript(s) and optional generated files (word index and/or word list).
- To apply a stamp like “Original” or ”Certified Copy”, see Stamping transcripts.
- To automatically hyperlink exhibits to a transcript, click Link Exhibits next to a document you want to link exhibits to.
- A popup will appear asking if you want to link exhibits for both the full-sized and condensed transcripts at the same time.
- Click Yes to have linked exhibits added to both transcripts.
- Click No to link exhibits to the selected transcript only.

- To add your reporter’s and/or agency’s digital ID to the transcripts, see Adding signatures to PDF transcripts.
- To restrict transcript access and set permissions, see Restricting access & setting permissions.
- When you have finished preparing transcripts, check their boxes and click Save to Repository. The selected transcript(s) appear in the New Repository panel with default values filled in. To make changes to the values and/or upload the files to the Witness repository, see Uploading files to a repository.
- Click Close.
