Setting up a Stripe business account
Before your clients can pay invoices online through RB Connect, you must set up a business account with one of the accepted online payment processing services and enter your credentials in RB9. Follow these instructions to set up a Stripe business account and enter your credentials in RB9.

NOTE: Stripe site instructions & wording might be different
These instructions might be slightly different from the actual site, however, the concept is the same. You must set up a business account on Stripe and get API credentials which you then enter in RB9 before you can accept payments online.
Set up Stripe account
- Sign up for an account on Stripe.
- Click the verification link in the “Verify your email to start using Stripe” email. It will automatically take you to the Stripe site. Log in to your account.
- In the Stripe dashboard, click Activate your account.
- Complete all the fields on the page. Set Your website to your RB9 URL.
- Click Activate account. Stripe reviews and automatically activates accounts. If there is any problem in the review, you will be notified. If so, click Review and follow the instructions.
Enable Stripe Connect
- In the Stripe dashboard, click Settings.
- Click Get Started in the Connect section.
- Click Get Started on the Connect page.
- Click Build a platform or marketplace on the popup.
- In the Stripe dashboard, click Settings. Then click Settings in the Connect section.
- On the Connect Settings page, check that Custom is enabled in the Account types section.
- Click Developers > API Keys.
- Make sure that you are not using test data. If this is the case, switch the View test data toggle off. Test API keys will not work in RB9. Keep your Stripe dashboard open.
Enter your credentials in RB9
- In RB9, go to Connect Preferences > Contact – Account Activity and click Edit.
- Add your API credentials to the Online Payment pane:
- Click Save.
