Creating exhibit stamps

RB9 only

Make customized stamp templates that can be automatically applied to PDF exhibits in RB9.

1. Setup > Exhibit Stamps
2. In the Exhibit Stamps window, click New.
3. In the New Exhibit Stamp window:

   • *Stamp Name

     Required. Enter a descriptive label for the stamp.

   • Box Width (inch)

     Default is 2". Overwrite if desired.

   • Box Height (inch)

     Default is .5". Overwrite if desired.

   • Box Border Thickness

     Default is 5 pixels. Choose a different thickness in the drop-down.

   • Box Border Color

     Default is black. To change the border color, click . See Picking colors in RB.

   • Box Background Color

     Default is white. To change the background color, click . See Picking colors in RB.

   • Digits of Exhibit No.

     Default is 4 digits. Select a different number length in the drop-down if desired.

   • Leading Character of Exhibit No.

     • 0 – Default. Exhibit numbers will start with a zero (0).
     • (no space) – Exhibit numbers will not have a space preceding the number.
     • (space) – Exhibit numbers will start with a space.

   • Stamp Occurrence

     To change how often the exhibit stamp appears in an exhibit, choose from the drop-down:

     • On every page – Exhibit stamp will appear on every page of multi-page exhibits.
     • On first page – Default. Exhibit stamp will appear once on the exhibit.

   • Stamp Position

     To change where the stamp will appear on an exhibit page, choose from the drop-down:

     • Top Left
     • Top Right – Default
     • Bottom Left
     • Bottom Right

   • Left/Right/Top/Bottom Margin (inch)

     In inches. Works in conjunction with Stamp Position. For example, with Top Right Stamp Postion, you can overwrite the default Right Margin and Top Margin distances from the paper edge.

   • *Stamp Text

     Required. Enter the text you want to appear on the stamp. To style the text, see Customizing email messages, web pages & stamps.

   • Show to Resource

     Default is Yes. If you allow resources to turn in jobs via RB Connect, leave this as Yes if you want to allow resources to use this stamp on exhibits they turn in online. If you do not want resources to have access to this stamp, click the slider to select No.

4. Click Preview to see how your stamp will appear on exhibits.
5. Click Save >
   • Save & New – To save the stamp and start another one without exiting the window.
   • Save & Close – When you are finished with creating stamps.

TIP: Have reporters apply stamps when uploading files

Your production staff can apply stamps automatically when uploading PDF exhibit files to the Witness repository in Turn In (see Adding stamps to exhibits). If you have reporters turn in online through RB Connect, give them the ability to do the same (see Resource – Turn In preferences).
