Granting access
Designate and monitor seniors, contacts who have access to other contact’s activities in RB Connect. To make someone senior to another contact, you grant them access to the contact’s RB Connect activities. You can do that by either giving other contacts access to a single contact (Grant Access To) or giving one contact access to multiple contacts (Have Access To).
Continued from Updating contacts.
- In an Edit Contact window, scroll or jump to the Grant Access To/Have Access To panes.
- Any contacts that have already been granted access to this contact’s activities or have granted this contact access to their own activities appear in the panes.
- To give other contacts access to this contact’s activities: Click
next to Grant Access To to enter additional contact(s).
- To give this contact access to other contacts’ activities: Click
next to Have Access To to enter additional contact(s).
- In the Grant Access To/Have Access To panes, any contacts at the current contact’s firm that were not already selected appear. To add access priviledges:
-
Other contacts at the same firm
Check the Contact box at the top of the pane to select all contacts or check individual contacts’ boxes.
-
Contacts at other firms
Click Switch to All Firms. Then find contact(s) (see Looking for contacts), and check their box(es).
- Click Save. New contacts granted access appear in the Grant Access To pane. New contacts whose activity this contact can access appear in the Have Access To pane.
- To cancel access to or from a contact, check their box in the appropriate pane, then click
.
TIP: Use Have Access To for lead attorneys/paralegals
If a lead attorney or paralegal oversees a case involving several attorneys, Have Access To is the quicker way to grant the lead access to multiple attorneys than going into each attorney’s profile one at a time to grant the lead access to their RB Connect activities.
