Changing case or job status
RB automatically changes the status of a case or job in some instances, such as when a job is turned in. You can update the status of a case or job manually to track its progress and automatically alert other users to a change in status that might require their attention.
-
In the General pane of an Edit Case/Edit Job window, current status appears in Status field.
- To update the status, click
>
- Change Status to Confirmed (job only) – For jobs you are confirming.
- Change Status to Cancelled (job only) – For jobs you are canceling.
- Change Status to Other (job only) – For all other job status changes.
- Change Status (case only) – For all case status changes.
- In the Change Status panel if *Status to be is blank or incorrect, select the new status from the drop-down (required). (Status options and default are set up in Lists > Cases and Lists > Jobs.)
- Enter any notes about the status change in Remarks. Remarks are stored in the Status History log.
- Click Save. If this is a case that you are canceling or settling:
- Select today’s date or the relevant date in the Cancel jobs after this date field to cancel all future jobs scheduled for the case automatically. See Date Navigator.
- Check the Cancel tasks belonging to cancelled jobs box to have all tasks related to the canceled jobs canceled too.
- Click Save in the Edit Case window or Save > Save & Close in the Edit Job window. If you selected Canceled as the new status, see Canceling jobs.
NOTE: New case or job status
In a New Case or New Job window, Status is New and can’t be changed. Save the case/job first, then change the status.
NOTE: Viewing status history
In an Edit Case/Edit Job window, click Status field’s
> View Status History to see the log of status changes, when they happened, who was responsible, and any remarks they entered at the time.
