RB User Guide > Calendar > Cases OR Jobs
Adding boilerplate text to remarks & notes
If you have standard information that you add to case remarks or certain types of job notes, instead of typing the same information each time — or copying and pasting the info from a Word doc — create templates to fill the fields. Then when adding/editing cases and jobs, you can apply a template, saving time and reducing errors. You can edit the applied template in the case/job fields as needed.
Continued from Entering general case information or Entering additional job information.
-
In a case
- In an Edit Case window, click
next to Remarks.
- In the Lookup Notes Templates panel, any notes templates you have set up for Case Remarks appear in a list. Click the template you want to include.
- RB9 copies the template into the Remarks field. Edit the text as desired.
-
In a job
- In an Edit Job window, click
next to Scheduling Notes, Confirmation Notes, Resource Notification Notes, or Production/Billing Notes.
- In the Lookup Notes Templates panel, any notes templates you have set up for the selected notes field appear in a list. Click the template you want to include.
- RB9 copies the template into the selected field. Edit the text as desired.
TIP: Apply templates first
When you apply a template to a field, it overwrites any information that may already be in the field. So apply the template first, then edit the information in the field and enter any additional text.
