Tracking inhouse and online repository access

RB9 only

In addition to complying with general security rules for business applications, tracking repository access is useful to see which clients and resources are using your RB Connect, and which files they are downloading. (Set up RB9 for tracking first. See note below.)

  1. Tools > Repository Download Log
  2. In the Search By pane, no specific filter is required, but you must use at least one of the search filters:
  3. Click search button. All entries that match the search criteria appear in the grid. You can view details about a person or file by clicking their hyperlinked name.
  4. To share the log with others, export and save the results by clicking export button and selecting an export file type. See Exporting & printing results.
IMPORTANT: Set up RB9 to record download activity

To start the logging process, go to Setup > System Preferences > Production and select Repository Logging. In the Production – Repository Logging panel, click Edit, then check the 3 Log download activity... boxes to have RB9 record usage of repository files. Click Save.

TIP: Help contacts track their own usage

When you check the Log download activity for contacts box in Setup > System Preferences > Production, your contacts can also see their download activity in RB Connect’s Repository. A Reviewed column will be included in their Repository results grid, and any file they download will record the date and time in that column, so your clients can see at a glance if they have downloaded a file or not.
