Voiding invoices
If a customer returns a product, its invoice must be voided. If a job is billed incorrectly, the invoice(s) should be voided before the job is billed again.
- Receivables > Enter Other Transactions
- In Enter Other Transactions window, click New > Void.
- In the New Void window’s Lookup Invoice No., type the invoice number and click
.
- Basic information about the invoice and its related client appear in the Invoice Info pane. Click any active
to view and edit details about the related client.
- In the Void pane, Transaction Date is today and cannot be edited. Enter the following information:
- Click Save >
- Save & New: To void another invoice.
- Save & Close: If you have no more invoices to void at this time.
- The voided invoice appears in the Enter Other Transactions window, along with any other unposted transactions. Check the box and click Post to post the transaction(s).
- RB9 posts the transaction(s). When finished, click OK in the popup that appears.
NOTE: Adjusting pay for voided invoices
When an invoice is voided, the resource’s pay is also voided. If the resource has already been paid, enter a pay adjustment to deduct the amount paid from the next payroll. (See Entering pay adjustments.)
