RB User Guide > Personal options > Locked Data
Managing locked data
When you attempt to access data that another user is already accessing, you can view the data, but it is “locked.’ If you attempt to edit the locked data, RB9 displays a popup that tells you the data is currently being edited and identifies who is editing it. You can override a lock to access the data, although this also overrides anything the other user has entered but not saved yet.
- If you receive a popup message that someone else is currently editing data that you also want to edit, click OK in the popup, then click [your name on the screen]
> Locked Data.
- In the Locked Data window, click Refresh to see if the data lock has been released by the other user.
- If the data is still locked, you have 3 options:
- Click
> Release Lock, then click Yes in the popup to force release the data lock. This immediately releases the lock and overrides the other user’s data input without warning.
- Wait and try again later.
- Contact the other person to save their work and “unlock” the data.
