Auditing new and canceled jobs

View new job settings by date to check for errors. View canceled jobs to look for trends and see if you can reduce cancellations.

  1. View jobs

    1. Calendar > Daily Calendar Audit
    2. In the Search By pane, Audit Type defaults to New, and the date range defaults to today. Change the search filters as needed, then click search button.
      • Audit Type

        New – Refers to the date job was entered into the Calendar, not its Job Date.

        Cancellation – Refers to date job was canceled, not its Job Date.

      • Date From/Date To

        Default is today. Change date range, if desired (see Date Navigator).

      • Job Type

        Categories of jobs requested by clients. Default is ALL. Click lookup button to restrict search to specific job types (see Lookup panel). Job type options are set in Lists > Jobs.

      • How Referred

        The way(s) clients heard of you. Default is ALL. Click lookup button to restrict search to specific categories of referrals in the Lookup How Referred panel (see Lookup panel). Job type options are set in Lists > Jobs.

      • Business Units

        Profit centers or parts of your business you track separately. Default is ALL. Click lookup button to restrict search to jobs tied to specific BUs (see Lookup panel). BUs are set in Business Units.

  2. View details

    RB8 lists all of the jobs that meet the specified search condition(s). Listings are color coded based on their job status. (Job status colors are set in System Preferences > Calendar > Job Status Color.)

    The Daily Calendar Audit function’s results grid layout is customizable. You can hide or show any column, rearrange the column order, stretch or shrink column widths, designate which column to sort results by in ascending or descending order, and choose which columns you want to always be visible when scrolling through the results. You can save your custom grid layout or return to the default layout. See Customizing grids.

    If you want to view details or make changes to a job, click its Job No.

  3. Export/print results

    To export and save the results, click grid options button and select an export file type. See Exporting & printing results.

BEST PRACTICES: Audit new jobs daily

At the end of each day, spend a few minutes auditing new job settings for errors. In particular, look for any job that is in the past or too far in the future. Sort the grid by the Job Date column so that you can scan down the list quickly.
